About Me
I am a graduate student in the Direct Entry Masters in Nursing program at the University of New Hampshire. I received my Bachelors of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire in 2009, with a focus on Family Studies and Child Advocacy. With this degree, I became certified as a Child Life Specialist and worked as the Child Life Coordinator for Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH. In this position, I was exposed to a variety of research, educational, and leadership opportunities.
My experiences within this position allowed me to work side by side with health care personnel developing and editing hospital protocols, enhancing the healthcare experience for pediatric patients and their families, and educating staff on developmentally appropriate interventions for pediatric patients. It is from these experiences in which my interest in the nursing field began to grow.
As I continue to embark on my nursing journey, I am excited to further my experiences through my education and clinical experiences.
Born and raised in New Hampshire, I enjoy anything that has to do with the outdoors. I am an avid runner and I enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking and horseback riding. I am an accomplished equestrian and hold the 2004 World Champion title in my division. I hope to bring my positive energy and enthusiasm to the nursing profession, and incorporate my interests and skills into my future career.
